Manuscript Success Blueprint: Your Complete Preparation & Submission Checklist

A research project is considered successfully completed with the publication of an effective scientific manuscript [1]. A simple manuscript can be any written text submitted to an editor or reviewer for publication, but a scientific manuscript can only be published after the completion of a study, peer review, and editing [4]. However, before a manuscript can be published in an indexed peer-reviewed journal, several steps need to be taken and several points that need to be considered [1]. Writing an error-free manuscript and submitting it by following an error-free procedure are equally important. Handling these components of the process effectively defines the fate of a scientific manuscript [2]. Publishing a scientific manuscript is critical. This is not only for completing the lifecycle of the research but also for one’s career as a scientist. By publishing your work, you are allowing the scientific community to learn about you and your research. This forms the basis of the exchange of scientific ideas [3].

Needless to say, the pressure of writing and submitting an effective manuscript is as high as the importance of the research. This process is extremely skill-oriented and requires familiarity and expertise in not only writing, editing, and formatting rules but also several publication steps and ethical guidelines [1]. To quote Werner Heisenberg, “An expert is a person who has found out by his own painful experience all the mistakes that one can make in a very narrow field.” It is true that many things can only be learned by trial and error, but we can learn from the errors of others to avoid making the same ones ourselves.
